50-YEAR RETROSPECTIVE FEATURED AT WILLIAM PATERSON UNIVERSITY ART GALLERY

Works by internationally exhibited artist John Goodyear from Lambertville will be showcased in the Ben Shahn Galleries at William Paterson University in Wayne from September 13 through October 12. Gallery hours are Monday through Friday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Admission is free. "

John Goodyear Ð from Painting to Sculpture," in the Court Gallery, features a representative retrospective of GoodyearÕs diverse talents. Other Goodyear works are on permanent display in such venues as the national libraries of Rome and Paris, the Guggenheim, the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the Smithsonian, the New Jersey State Museum and the Newark Museum. GoodyearÕs commission by the state, five marble reliefs entitled "The Dawn of Law," can be viewed at the State House in Trenton.

"John Goodyear Ð from Painting to Sculpture" is one of three shows exhibited concurrently. Also on view in the Ben Shahn Galleries are "William Paterson University Art Department Faculty Exhibit," in the South Gallery, and "Marvin Friedman Ð Painting William Paterson People," on display in the East Gallery.
