THE ORCHESTRA AT WILLIAM PATERSON UNIVERSITY PRESENTS SPECIAL FAMILY CONCERT FEATURING THE MUM PUPPETTHEATRE ON NOVEMBER 24

The Orchestra at William Paterson University joins forces with the Mum Puppettheatre for a special performance of Tchaikovsky’s “Swan Lake.” The Sunday, November 24 concert will be presented at 3 p.m. in the Shea Center for Performing Arts at William Paterson University in Wayne.

The award-winning puppet troupe, the Mum Puppettheatre, performs in their Philadelphia home base and on tour as they travel to theatres, schools, and other presenting organizations around the world. The multitalented group integrates visual images and movement with music to create a compelling form of theatre. Collaborating with the Orchestra at William Paterson University, they will present Tchaikovsky’s timeless ballet, “Swan Lake,” in a program appropriate for children of all ages.

Italo Marchini, director of New Jersey’s Ars Musica Chorale, will conduct. Marchini has established himself as one of today's most versatile young conductors. He made his professional conducting debut in 1982 with "Tosca" and has since led numerous concert performances and opera productions on both sides of the Atlantic. Marchini made his New York debut at Lincoln Center in 1993 leading Rossini's "Mose," a performance the New York Times called "blended and robust."

This professional orchestra is underwritten, in part, by William Paterson University, and the Passaic County Cultural and Heritage Council at Passaic County Community College through the State County Block Grant Program of the New Jersey State Council on the Arts/Department of State, a Partner Agency of the National Endowment for the Arts.

Tickets for the concert are $25 standard, $20 for seniors (age 60 and older). For additional information on the concert, please call the Shea Center for Performing Arts Box Office at 973.720.2371.
