In addition, the conference will include 17 workshops on a variety of topics such as the art of questioning for successful language learning, vocabulary building, human rights curricula, wordless picture books, culture-specific learning behavior, meeting the needs of culturally and linguistically diverse learners, and the impact of the “No Child Left Behind” legislation on bilingual/ESL programs, among others. A special panel, featuring four past presidents of the New Jersey Teachers of English to Speakers of Other Languages/New Jersey Bilingual Educators, will reflect on the history and future development of bilingual education in New Jersey.
