Two former governors of New Jersey, Brendan T. Byrne and Thomas Kean, will present an evening devoted to a subject in which they have immense experience---The State of New Jersey---on April 15 as William Paterson University concludes its Distinguished Lecturer Series for the 2004-2005 season.

Single tickets will be available at the Shea Center Box Office on April 8. For ticket availability, and to purchase single tickets, please call the box office at 973-720-2371 between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m.; prices are $32 standard, $30 for senior citizens, William Paterson faculty, staff and alumni; $10 for William Paterson students; and $14 for students from other schools. The lecture begins at 8 p.m. in Shea Center on campus; parking is free.

New Jersey’s governor from 1974 to 1982, Byrne’s administration instituted the state income tax, and was instrumental in the support of conservation and the environment.. Byrne has served distinguished positions on committees including president of the New Jersey Public Utility Commission and was recently appointed chairman of the Executive Commission on Ethical Standards. He is currently a senior partner in the law firm of Carella, Byrne, Bain, Gilfillan, Cecchi, Stewart and Olstein. Byrne and Kean provide The Kean-Byrne Dialogue each Sunday for the Star-Ledger.

Kean was governor of New Jersey from 1982 to 1990. In December of 2002, President George W. Bush named Kean to head the National Commission on Terrorist Attacks investigation of the attacks on September 11, which recently concluded its investigation.
