William Paterson University Presents Eighth Annual Sister to Sister Conference

The eighth annual Sister to Sister Conference, “Designing a New You,” will be held on Saturday, March 5 from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. in the Valley Road Café at William Paterson University. Admission is free and a continental breakfast and lunch will be served.

Joan Morgan, an award-winning journalist and author will present the keynote address at 12:30 p.m. The event features professional and personal wellness sessions on issues including technology, financial planning, women’s health, relationships and issues of personal development.

Originally from Jamaica, Morgan is the executive editor of Essence magazine. She began her professional writing career as a freelancer for the Village Voice and has also written for magazines such as Vibe, Madison and Spin. Morgan is also the author of When Chickenheads Come Home to Roost, a fresh and witty novel about the life of the modern black woman. Morgan is a graduate of Wesleyan University and will hold a book signing at the end of the conference.
