Noted Author Doris Kearns Goodwin to Speak at William Paterson University as Part of Distinguished Lecturer Series

Doris Kearns Goodwin, a world-renowned historian, and a Pulitzer-Prize winning author, will speak as part of William Paterson University’s Distinguished Lecturer series on November 17.

Tickets are available at the Shea Center Box Office for the remaining lectures in the series. For ticket availability, and to purchase tickets, please call the box office at 973-720-2371 between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m. or purchase online at www.wpunj.edu/dls; prices are $32 standard; $30 for senior citizens and William Paterson faculty, staff and alumni; $10 for William Paterson students; and $14 for students from other schools. All lectures begin at 8 p.m. in Shea Center on campus in Wayne; parking is free

Kearns Goodwin’s best-selling book, Team of Rivals: The Political Genius of Abraham Lincoln, won the 2006 Lincoln Prize for an outstanding work about the president or Civil War.  She was presidential advisor to Lyndon Johnson and later assisted him in the preparation of his memoirs. Kearns Goodwin has been reporting on American government, politics, and baseball for more than two decades. She is the author of several books, including a memoir, Wait Until Next Year, which is about growing up in the 1950s in love with the Brooklyn Dodgers. She has written for leading national publications and is a TV commentator, consultant, and on-air personality for various networks.
