WILLIAM PATERSON UNIVERSITY TO OFFER ONLINE WINTER SESSION COURSES

William Paterson University in Wayne will offer accelerated Online Winter Session courses during the University’s winter break from December 26, 2006 to January 14, 2007.

More than 30 courses will be available, including courses in communication, music, economics, finance and global business, marketing, management, secondary and middle school education, counseling and special education, anthropology, English, geography, history, languages and cultures, Latin American studies, political science, psychology, sociology, women’s studies and exercise and movement science. All courses will be taught online via Blackboard, the University’s online course management system.

Courses are open to William Paterson students as well as students from other institutions. Registration is limited to one three-credit course per student; previous experience taking online courses is strongly recommended. Students from other institutions are advised to seek prior approval for courses they wish to transfer back to their home institution for degree credit.

Registration for the online winter session begins November 8 and continues through December 15. A list of course offerings and syllabi is available on the William Paterson Web site at www.wpunj.edu/wintersession. Tuition and fees are $800 per course for undergraduate students who are New Jersey residents, and $1,382
for out-of-state undergraduate students. Tuition and fees are $1,450 per course for graduate students who are New Jersey residents and $2,305 for out-of-state graduate students.

Courses begin December 26 and end on January 14. The New Year’s Day holiday will be observed on January 1. Library reference assistance will be available by e-mail to a designated address and/or by
telephone from noon to 4 p.m. daily from December 26 through 31 and on January 6-7 and 13-14;messages left at other times will be answered within 24 hours. Beginning on January 2, reference assistance will be available on weekdays from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. in person in the library, as well as by phone and e-mail. Technology support for Blackboard also will be available online with a 24-hour response time except for weekends.
