The lecture, “Presidential Campaign 2008 – A Conversation about Issues, Candidates and Concerns,” will take place on October 26, 2007.

Full series subscriptions are $130. Two-program packages are $68 and tickets for individual programs are $37.  To purchase subscriptions or tickets, please call the box office at 973-720-2371 between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m. or purchase online at www.wpunj.edu/dls.

Harold Ford, Jr., a Democrat from Tennessee, served in the House of Representatives for 10 years and is now chairman of the Democratic Leadership Council and vice chairman of Merrill Lynch.  He represented the ninth district in Memphis, Tenn. He left the house to pursue a Senate seat in 2006, but lost by a small margin. While in Congress, he served on the budget, financial services, and education and workforce committees. Ford is a visiting professor at Vanderbilt University. The son of former Congressman Harold Ford, Sr., Ford’s family has been long prominent in Memphis’s black community.

Susan Molinari, a Republican from New York, served in the House for seven years and is now chairman and CEO of the Washington Group, and president of Ketchum Public Affairs. She was a member of congress from 1990 to 1997. Born and raised on Staten Island, she is a third generation public servant, following both her father and grandfather into politics. While in Washington, she quickly rose through the ranks to become, in just four short years, named to the Republican Majority Leadership, making her the highest-ranking woman in congress. She was a member of the House Budget Committee and chaired the Transportation and Infrastructure Committee’s Railroad Subcommittee.
