SUMMER ENERGY WORKSHOP AT WILLIAM PATERSON UNIVERSITY ON JULY 30

The New Jersey Higher Education Partnership for Sustainability (NJHEPS) will sponsor a summer energy workshop on July 30 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the University Commons Ballroom at William Paterson University in Wayne.

Martin Ludwig, Ph.D., a management consultant for Halt Systems of Wayne, will address workshop participants regarding Wayne Township’s cogeneration and renewable energy project, an extensive venture to explore and launch alternative sources of energy.

NJHEPS is a consortium of New Jersey higher education institutions whose mission is to transform the higher education community to consistently practice sustainability and to more effectively contribute to the world's emerging understanding of sustainability through teaching, research, outreach, operations, and community life.

William Paterson University launched its Energy Conservation Program in 2000 with the goal of reducing the institution’s carbon footprint. The program has received several awards, including a 2004 Energy and Climate Action Award, presented jointly by the Department of Environmental Protection and NJHEPS. In addition, the University was nominated for a 2007 Clean Energy Leadership Award by the New Jersey Board of Public Utilities.

The workshop is open to the public. Registration for members is $20, for non-members, $30. To register, please access http://www.acteva.com/booking.cfm?bevaid=161688.
