University Observes Martin Luther King Day on January 31

William Paterson University will hold its annual celebration of the life and legacy of Martin Luther King Jr. on Thursday, January 31 with a lecture by Lenworth Gunther, Ph.D, “We Must Answer the Call to Justice,” to be held at 12:30 p.m. in the David and Lorraine Cheng Library auditorium. The event is open to the public. Admission is free.

Gunther is the author of several books, including the New Jersey African American History Curriculum Guide for High School, Black Image, and Flaming Tongue: The Rise of Adam Clayton Powell, Jr. An historian, he was a professor of African, African American and Carribbean studies at several universities including Drew University, Fairleigh Dickinson University, and Rutgers University.  He is the founder of The Gunther Group, an educational consulting business which specializes in communications, diversity, and motivational issues.
