WILLIAM PATERSON STUDENTS WIN 6 OF 14 AWARDS GIVEN AT ART DIRECTORS CLUB OF NJ ANNUAL COMPETITION

Art students from William Paterson University in Wayne won six of the 14 awards given at the Art Directors Club of New Jersey (ADCNJ) Annual Scholarship Competition held in spring 2000. This is the second consecutive year students from William Paterson have won six awards at the competition, which is open to all two-and four-year colleges within the state.

The winners include: Katie Blair of Nutley, Chris Czapnik of Lyndhurst, Elizabeth Rodriguez of Paterson, Maureen Ruckdeschel of Hillsdale, Misun Kang of Little Ferry and Craig Glatt of Hillsdale. The students received statewide recognition at the ADCNJ's Annual Awards Dinner Gala held at the Beechwood Manor in Whippany on April 28.

"I am sure you will join me in saluting these fine young designers for their achievements and the statewide recognition it brings to our program," said Angela DeLaura, assistant professor of art at William Paterson, who heads the graphic design program at the University.

Award recipients were selected from approximately 100 portfolios submitted by 14 schools throughout the state. Categories for submission included advertising, graphic design, package design, product design, illustration, and advertising photography. In addition to scholarship money, each winner receives a one-year club membership to the ADCNJ.

William Paterson University, one of the nine state colleges and universities in New Jersey, is dedicated to two key principles: academic excellence and student success. The University offers 29 undergraduate and 17 graduate programs to nearly 10,000 students, and has 352 full-time faculty.
