MADELEINE ALBRIGHT TO SPEAK AT WILLIAM PATERSON UNIVERSITY Former Secretary of State Madeleine
K. Albright will bring her expertise in foreign affairs and perspective
on politics to William Paterson Universitys Distinguished Lecturer
Series on November 30 at 8 p.m. in Shea Center on campus. A limited number of single
tickets may be available at the Shea Center Box Office on November 26.

Secretary of State from 1997-2001, was the first woman to hold that job,
and became the highest ranking woman in U.S. government history. In her
lecture, she will discuss her many accomplishments in Washington and abroad.
Albright presided over a restructuring of U.S. foreign affairs institutions
to align with 21st century threats and brought efforts to improve the
lives of women into American policy. She led Americas efforts to
expand and modernize NATO and its successful campaign to reverse ethnic
cleansing in Kosovo; promoted peace in the Middle East; worked with Russia
and North Korea to reduce nuclear danger; and sought to enhance cooperation
with China. Albright is the founder of
The Albright Group LLC, a global strategy firm. She is the first Michael
and Virginia Mortara Endowed Professor in the Practice of Diplomacy at
the Georgetown University School of Foreign Service and the first Distinguished
Scholar of the William Davidson Institute at the University of Michigan
Business School. She is also the chairman of the National Democratic Institute
for International Affairs. Albright expects to complete her autobiography
for publication in 2003. William Paterson's Distinguished
