WILLIAM PATERSON UNIVERSITY TO PRESENT NATIONAL TOUR PERFORMANCE OF "A COUPLE OF BLAGUARDS" "A Couple of Blaguards," the internationally acclaimed autobiographical play by brothers Frank and Malachy McCourt, will be presented at William Paterson University in Wayne on Saturday, October 14, 2000 at 8:00 p.m. in Shea Center. The show is part of a national tour by Mainstage Productions. Tickets are $22 standard, $20 for senior citizens and the William Paterson community, and $12 for non-William Paterson students. Tickets for William Paterson students are $7. Blarney, sentiment and infectious humor abound in the two-character play by best-selling authors Frank McCourt, whose "Angela's Ashes" won the Pulitzer Prize, and Malachy McCourt, who wrote "A Monk Swimming." The show spans their years growing up in poverty in Limerick, Ireland, to their escape to America in search of a better life. Like all good storytellers, the brothers McCourt have good stories to tell in this theatrical work brought to life by members of the original New York cast. The show, which made its Off Broadway debut at the Triad Theatre in New York, "mixes the sweetness and kick of an Irish coffee," said Newsday in a review. For additional information or to purchase
tickets, please call the Shea Center Box Office at 973-720-2371.
