William Paterson University Offers Continuing Education Courses This Fall
The Center of Continuing Education and Distance Learning at William Paterson University will offer the following programs this fall. All classes will be held on the campus in Wayne.

Yoga: Mondays, October 23 and 30, November 6, 13, 20, 27, and December 4 and 11. Classes will be held from 5:45-7:15 p.m. The fee is $89. Each class begins with a centering meditation and breathwork, progresses through warm-up stretches to yoga postures, and ends with a guided relaxation. Participants learn to relax, revitalize, release stress, and increase flexibility.

Microsoft Excel­Introduction: Tuesday and Wednesday, October 24 and 25, from 6:30-9:30 p.m. The fee is $155 (discounts are available for two or more workshops). Participants learn how to manipulate worksheet data, format the contents of a worksheet, create charts and prepare, set up, and print worksheets.

Microsoft Excel­Intermediate: Saturday, October 28, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. The fee is $155 (discounts are available for two or more workshops). Topics include merging cells, adding and deleting rows and columns, auto formatting, setting margins, and moving and renaming worksheets within a workbook.

Advanced Excel: Tuesday and Wednesday, October 31 and November 1, from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. The fee is $155 (discounts are available for two or more workshops). Participants will learn how to link and embed objects into documents, reference cells on other worksheets, and create templates and macros.

Motivating Customers to Buy--How to Close More Sales: Mondays, October 30, and November 6, 13, 20, from 7 to 9 p.m. The fee for this course is $149. Participants in this interactive and hands-on program learn the skills necessary for a sales team to create trusting, collaborative and mutually profitable customer relationships.

Introduction to Training and Development: Wednesday, November 8 and 15, from 6 to 9 p.m. The fee for this course is $199. This workshop provides an introduction to the major issues training professionals seek to master in their careers. The topics to be covered include: the training environment and the trainer's job, adult learning principles, planning training programs, budgeting and controlling costs, and techniques to get the job done.
