"CRIMES OF THE HEART" TO BE STAGED AT WILLIAM PATERSON UNIVERSITY

"Crimes of the Heart" by Beth Henley, which won the 1981 Pulitzer Prize and the New York Drama Critics Award, will be staged at William Paterson University in Wayne on October 20, 21, 25, 26, 27 and 28 at 8 p.m., October 22 at 6 p.m., and October 26 also at 12:30 p.m. in Hunziker Theatre on campus.

Tickets are $7 standard, $5 for the William Paterson community and senior citizens. Brian Ersalesi, a William Paterson alumnus, will direct the production.

"Crimes of the Heart" has been described by critics as a warm-hearted, irreverent, zany and brilliantly imaginative play with humanity and humor. As it examines the plight of three young Mississippi sisters betrayed by their passions, "Crimes of the Heart" provides theatregoers with wisdom, compassion and laughter that lingers long after the curtain has descended.

Featured in the cast are William Paterson students Amanda Arthur of Clifton; Wendy DeMarco of Cinnaminson; Ellen Saunders of Gibbsboro; Akmed Taylor-Kamara of Monmouth Junction; and Michael K. Wnoroski of Kearny. Theresa Lyons of Bloomfield, a community actor, is also part of the cast.
