Renowned Scientist to Speak at William
Paterson University in March The planetarium recently came under criticism for removing the planet Pluto from its roster of planets, a move not supported by other museums. "We're not confrontational about it, "said Dr. Tyson in an interview with the New York Times. "You actually have to pay attention to make a note of this." Tyson also served as director of the planetarium's $200 million reconstruction project. He is a visiting research scientist at Princeton University and an astronomer in the Department of Astrophysics at the American Museum of Natural History. Tyson is the author of five books and writes two monthly columns, "Merlin," for Stardate magazine, and "Universe," for Natural History magazine.
