JESS BORONICO NAMED DEAN OF THE CHRISTOS M. COTSAKOS COLLEGE OF BUSINESS AT WILLIAM PATERSON UNIVERSITY Dr. Jess S. Boronico has been
appointed dean of the Christos M. Cotsakos College of Business at William
Paterson University in Wayne, N.J. "We look forward to Dean
Boronico's vision and leadership for William Paterson's Cotsakos College
of Business," said President Arnold Speert. "Jess takes the
reins at an exciting time for the College, just as we prepare to move
to a state-of-the-art facility, and seek national accreditation from the
Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB)." The Cotsakos College of Business
will move to a recently acquired building on Valley Road in Wayne that
is currently undergoing a complete renovation. The facility is scheduled
to open in September 2002. An active scholar and author,
Boronico also was appointed professor in the University's Department of
Marketing and Management. He holds a Ph.D. in operations research and
management science from the Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania.
Boronico earned a master of science degree in mathematics, operations
research specialization, and a bachelor of science degree in mathematics
with a minor in business administration from Fairleigh Dickinson University. "Dean Boronico has distinguished
himself as a scholar, an educatorand an administrator," said Chernoh
Sesay, provost and executive vice president at William Paterson. "We
welcome the broad experience he brings to the University." A specialist in statistics,
management science, and quantitative methods, Boronico is the co-author
of "Simulation in Operations Management" (Quorum Books, 1996)
and editor of "Strategy and Tactics for Business Management in the
New Millennium" (Edwin Mellen, 2000). He has also published more
than 35 articles in scholarly journals such as "Omega," "Production
and Operations Management" and "The American Statistician."
Boronico has served as a consultant to a number of business organizations,
including the New Jersey Highway Authority and the United States Postal
Service. Boronico is the recipient of
numerous scholarly citations and is recognized in various Who's Who publications.
A member of the editorial board of European Sport Management Quarterly,
Boronico is also a member of the Institute for Operations Research and
the Management Sciences, the Decision Sciences Institute, the American
Statistical Association, and MENSA. The Cotsakos College of Business
at William Paterson University provides undergraduate and graduate level
programs that produce graduates with the skills, knowledge, and values
necessary for success in a diverse, technologically, and globally competitive
environment. The faculty is a diverse group of practitioners and educators
with expertise in the entire range of business disciplines including accounting,
economics, finance, global business, law, management, and marketing. The
College also supports an extensive internship program, a Non-Profit Resource
Center, and a Small Business Development Center, and works closely with
the University's Workforce Development Network, which brings together
representatives from the University and area businesses to exchange ideas
and develop common objectives. William Paterson University,
one of the nine state colleges and universities in New Jersey, offers
30 undergraduate and 18 graduate programs through five colleges: Arts
and Communication, Business, Education, Humanities and Social Sciences,
and Science and Health. Located on 370 hilltop acres in Wayne, the University
enrolls approximately 10,500 students and provides housing for nearly
2,300 students. The institution's 359 full-time faculty are highly distinguished
and diverse scholars and teachers, many of whom are recipients of prestigious
awards and grants from the Fulbright Program (27 scholars), the Guggenheim
Foundation, the National Endowment for the Humanities, the National Institutes
of Health, the National Science Foundation and the American Philosophical
