COTSAKOS AND WESTON ARE LEGACY HONOREES AT
WILLIAM PATERSON UNIVERSITY

Christos Cotsakos (top), chairman and CEO of E*Trade and a 1973 graduate of William Paterson University, and Josh Weston (below), honorary chairman of Automatic Data Processing, Inc. (ADP), will be honored for their contributions to New Jersey's growth and development during the tenth annual Legacy Award Dinner at William Paterson University in Wayne on Saturday, November 6, 1999.

Hosted by the William Paterson University Foundation, the $175-a-plate event is designed to provide financial support for outstanding students who are destined to influence and shape the progress of our region for years to come. Since 1989, the dinner has raised more than $500,000 for the university's scholarship fund.

The Legacy Award, given for "singular impact in shaping our region," is presented in the spirit of William Paterson, an early statesman of New Jersey, who served his country as a member of the first United States Senate, New Jersey's second governor and a U.S. Supreme Court Justice.

Erwin Knauer, executive vice president, Greater Community Bancorp, chairs the dinner committee. The evening begins with cocktails at 7 p.m., followed by dinner at 8 p.m. in the Ballroom of the Machuga Student Center on campus. A videotaped tribute to the honorees will be a highlight of the event.

Cotsakos joined E*Trade, the online personal financial services company, in 1996. Named one of the Top 50 Cyber Elite by Time Digital in 1998, Cotsakos was recently cited by Business Week as one of the 25 "most influential people in electronic business." Prior to joining E*Trade, he was president, chief operating officer, co-chief executive officer, and a director of A.C. Nielsen Inc., the market research and television ratings firm. From 1973 to 1992, Cotsakos was employed by the Federal Express Corporation, where he rose from the position of cargo handler to vice president and general manager for European, African, and Near Eastern operations.

A 1973 graduate of William Paterson with a degree in communication and political science, Cotsakos earned an M.B.A. from Pepperdine University. He is currently a Ph.D. candidate in the field of economics at the University of London. Cotsakos resides in California.

Weston retired as chairman of ADP in 1998 following 14 years as the company's chief executive officer and five years as chief operating officer. During his tenure as CEO, the firm's revenues grew from $750 million to $6 billion, making it one of the world's largest independent computing services firms. A member of ADP's board, Weston also serves on the boards of Russ Berrie & Co., J. Crew, Olsten Corporation and Shared Medical Systems, Inc. He chairs the board of Boys Town of Jerusalem and Yeshiva University Business School and is former chair of the board of New Jersey Business Partnership and Mountainside Hospital.

Weston's philanthropic activities have benefited such organizations as the New Jersey Symphony, Montclair Art Museum, WNET/Channel 13, and Liberty Science Center. A Fulbright scholar, he holds a bachelor's degree in economics from the City College of New York, a master's degree from the University of New Zealand, and served in the U.S. Navy. The father of four children, Weston resides in Montclair with his wife, Judy.
