"WILLIAM PATERSON UNIVERSITY TO PRESENT THE MUSICAL COMEDY "PERSONALS"

"Personals," the musical comedy that takes a satirical look at blind dating and relationships, will be staged at William Paterson University on July 14, 15, 20, 21, and 22 at 8 p.m., and July 16 at 3 p.m. in Shea Center for Performing Arts on campus.

Tickets are $12 standard, $10 for the William Paterson community and senior citizens, and $7 for William Paterson students. Ed Matthews, a William Paterson staff member, will direct the production.

"Personals," based on the book and lyrics by David Crane, Seth Friedman, and Marta Kauffman, is a collection of comic scenes, monologues and songs about people who place lonely-hearts ads, the merits of "going it alone" and the desolate yearning for that special someone.

Featured in the cast, including students, alumni and community actors, are Staci Block of Hackensack; Brian Ersalesi of Rutherford; Jeffrey Fiorello and Allison Lurin of Wayne; Jaclyn M. Hunt of Kenilworth; Doug McLaughlin of Rockaway; Jennifer Pellegrine of Elmwood Park; and Andrew Semegram of Wyckoff.

Matthews is a graduate of the State University of New York at Plattsburgh, and holds a master's degree from Idaho State University and a master of fine arts degree in directing/acting from Sarah Lawrence College. He has more than 15 years of experience as a professional lighting designer for metropolitan area theatre productions.
