WILLIAM PATERSON UNIVERSITY TO PRESENT "HARRIET TUBMAN, " A SHOW FOR CHILDREN

"Harriet Tubman," a musical about the pioneer of the Underground Railroad, will be staged on Saturday, January 26 at William Paterson University in Wayne.
Presented by Sail Productions, one of the leading children’s musical companies in the United States, the show will be held at 2 p.m. in the Shea Center for Performing Arts on campus. Tickets are $7. The show is geared toward children in grades 3 through 8.

From her birth into slavery in about 1820 to her death in 1911, Harriet Tubman became famous in a variety of ways. In addition to her role in the Underground Railroad, Tubman was a spy for the Union Army, an intermediary between white and black communities in the North and a poor but devoted creative humanitarian for newly freed African Americans.

This engrossing story about courage and perseverance features original songs by Sail Productions’ award-winning composer and is part of the company’s Storybook Theatre for Children series.
