WILLIAM PATERSON UNIVERSITY PRESENTS
ONE-DAY CONFERENCE ON ASIAN STUDIES
William Paterson University in Wayne is sponsoring a one-day conference
on educators in New Jersey on Saturday, April 26 on the teaching
of Asian studies.
"Teaching Asia" aims at fostering a deeper understanding
of the region, and at promoting Asian studies both across the curriculum
and in professional fields. It will be held in the Atrium building
on campus from 8:15 a.m. (registration and coffee) until 2:30 p.m.
The conference features nine workshop presentations by William Paterson
Asian studies scholars that will provide in-depth information on
a wide variety of topics as well as explore practical classroom
issues. There also will be demonstrations of Asian culture, a round-table
discussion, and a book display.
The program is sponsored by the University’s Asian Studies
Program in the College of Humanities and Social Sciences and the
Center for Continuing Education and Distance Learning.
Registered conference attendees are eligible for 5 contact hours
or 5 CEUs. Registration fee is $65. Non-registrants are welcome
to attend the cultural demonstrations and other Atrium lobby events.
