AMERICANA FAVORITES FEATURED AT WILLIAM PATERSON
UNIVERSITY SUMMER CHORAL CONCERT
Some of America’s favorite choral literature will be heard
in live performance on Sunday, July 27 at 7:30 p.m. at William Paterson
University in Wayne. The concert, titled "Americana,"
is presented free of charge at Shea Center for Performing Arts and
will feature spirituals, a medley from the musicals of Rodgers and
Hammerstein, and music by Randall Thompson.
The University Summer Chorus is a mixed voice ensemble comprised
of some 60 community and college vocalists.
Stephan Bryant, William Paterson professor of music, has selected
June Laine Van Thoen to conduct. Van Thoen, Morristown United Methodist
director of music ministries and a Parsippany resident, has held
choral conducting positions in Virginia, California and New York,
and has studied and sung with Norman Luboff, Robert Page and Robert
