WILLIAM PATERSON UNIVERSITY TO HOLD AUDITIONS
FOR "CROSSING DELANCEY"
Open auditions for William Paterson University’s production
of "Crossing Delancey," a popular play and movie by Susan
Sandler, will be held in Hunziker Room 201 on the University’s
campus in Wayne on May 18 from 3 to 6 p.m. and May 19 from 6 to
9 p.m. The play will be produced July 11 through 19.
"Crossing Delancey" is a sentimental, character-driven
romantic comedy about a New York City Jewish woman who must choose
between suitors and cultures.
Professional and community actors are encouraged to audition for
this production. Interested actors should come prepared to read
from the script; a two-minute modern comic monologue is optional.
Parts are available for: Isabelle (25 - 35), a single Jewish modern
woman; Bubbie, Isabelle’s Jewish grandmother; Hannah, a middle-aged
Jewish matchmaker; Sam (30 - 40), a single, Jewish pickle seller;
and Tyler (40+), a pretentious writer.
