AMBASSADOR DENNIS ROSS TO HEADLINE
WILLIAM PATERSON UNIVERSITY’S DISTINGUISHED LECTURE SERIES
Ambassador Dennis Ross, a highly skilled
diplomat, negotiator and scholar, will present the opening lecture
of William Paterson University’s 24th season of the Distinguished
Lecturer Series on October 3.
A limited number of single tickets may be available at the Shea
Center Box Office on September 29. For ticket availability, and

between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m.; prices are $26 standard; $24 for senior
citizens, William Paterson faculty, staff and alumni; $10 for William
Paterson students; and $14 for students from other schools. The
lecture begins at 8 p.m. in Shea Center on campus; parking is free.
Ross, a point man in both the Bush and Clinton administrations,
was responsible for exploring all approaches to settling the ongoing
Arab-Israeli conflict in the region, and has been credited with
managing the peace process through crises and stalemates. Currently,
he is the director and Ziegler Distinguished Fellow of the Washington
Institute for Near East Policy.
A foreign affairs analyst for the Fox News Channel, Ross is a frequent
commentator in The Washington Post, The New York Times, and the
Los Angeles Times. His book, "The Missing Peace," which
tells the inside story of efforts to negotiate peace over the last
decade and outlines the key lessons to be drawn from that experience,
will be published this year.
Ross was awarded the Presidential Medal for Distinguished Federal
Civilian Service by President Clinton. Secretaries’ Baker
and Albright presented him with the State Department’s highest
award. He has also received the UCLA Medal, which is the university’s
highest honor.
