WILLIAM PATERSON UNIVERSITY TO PRESENT
BUSINESS LEADERSHIP FORUM ON WEDNESDAY, MARCH 26
—Three top executives to discuss business trends and issues
Three prominent metropolitan area executives will discuss today’s
most pressing business issues during a Leadership Forum, "The
Future of Business: Shareholders and Stakeholders," on Wednesday,
March 26, at 2 p.m. in the 1600 Valley Road auditorium at William
Paterson University in Wayne. Admission is free and open to the
public.
Raymond Arthur, president of Toysrus.com, Will Pesce, president
and CEO of John Wiley & Sons, Inc., and Eileen Scott, CEO of
Pathmark Stores, Inc. – all notable alumni of William Paterson
– will be the speakers. George Taber, founder and president
of NJBIZ, formerly known as Business News New Jersey, will moderate
the discussion.
The event, sponsored by the William Paterson University Foundation,
is designed to provide students with an opportunity to interact
with some of the region’s top executives and business leaders.
Arthur, who was appointed president of Toysrus.com in January 2002,
joined the company in 1999 and was instrumental in helping to coordinate
the company’s groundbreaking alliance with Amazon.com. He
now oversees the Toysrus.com and Amazon.com co-branded site, and
is currently driving Toysrus.com’s diversification and expansion
plans, including a recently launched e-commerce venture in Japan.
He is a 1982 graduate of William Paterson with a bachelor’s
degree in accounting.
Pesce has been president and chief executive officer of John Wiley
& Sons, Inc., one of the world’s foremost publishers of
print and electronic products, since 1998. He joined Wiley in 1989
and held positions as chief operating officer, executive vice president
and senior vice president, Educational and International Group,
and senior vice president, Educational Publishing. Pesce is a 1973
graduate of William Paterson with a bachelor’s degree in business
administration.
Scott was named president of Pathmark in October 2002. She previously
served as executive vice president, store operations, and in various
senior level merchandising and operations positions with the company.
She joined Pathmark in 1969 as a cashier and part-time bookkeeper
at the Paulison Avenue store in Clifton. Scott is a 1976 graduate
of William Paterson with a bachelor’s degree in business administration.
Taber is the founder and president of NJBIZ, New Jersey’s
only weekly business newspaper. The publication has won more than
three dozen national and state awards for editorial excellence.
He is also the daily business commentator for the radio station
New Jersey 101.5.
