Art Students Exhibit Mixed Media Work at William
Paterson University
Twelve William Paterson University graduate and undergraduate students
who are pursuing master’s and bachelor’s degree in fine
art will present new works in the Power Art Gallery on campus from
August 18 through September 15, 2003.
Gallery hours are Monday through Friday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Admission
is free. An opening reception for the exhibit will be held on Wednesday,
September 10 from 6 to 8 p.m.
The exhibit, titled "On and Off the Wall," reflects a
wide range of techniques, materials and approaches to mixed media
artwork. All of the artists are currently studying with Alan Lazarus,
a William Paterson University professor of art, who has asked them
to create works that combine two-dimensional and three-dimensional
elements. Each artist will present a pair of artworks – one
to be mounted on the wall, the other to be situated nearby on the
gallery floor – that include related elements.
Artists participating in the show, who are all from New Jersey,
include: Renee Elizabeth Battle of Newark, Tara Bauer of Wantage,
Pamela Drezga of Bridgewater, Karen Johnson of Newton, Barry Karsh
of East Brunswick, Lauren Marciniak of Glen Rock, Tenley Marshall
of Delaware, William Prior of Wayne, Izabella Rodzen of Lincoln
Park, Gina Sabatino of Belleville, Nadia Tedesco of Totowa, and
Thomas Van Stone of Blairstown.
