To The Wedding,” on Stage at William Paterson University November

“A Funny Thing Happened On The Way To The Wedding,”
Titus Maccius Plautus’s Roman slapstick comedy, translated
by Richard Beacham, will be presented at William Paterson University’s
Shea Center for Performing Arts in Wayne from November 10 to 16.
Edward Matthews, director of the performing arts unit, will direct.
The play is the modern translation of the musical “A Funny
Thing Happened On The Way To The Forum.” The story takes place
in Roman society and centers on a lustful husband, who falls in
love with a young slave girl, despite his wife’s objections.
However, the women get their revenge by outwitting the men and depriving
them of food.
Cast members include students Andrea Corbo of Montville, Christina
Cummings of Ventnor, Doug Fallone of Paramus, Ali Gleason of Forked
River, Tiffany Groglio of Plantsville Connecticut, Raechel Heffers
of North Arlington, Fred Henry of South Amboy, Nicole Hunnighan
of Budd Lake, Joe Palinsky of Colonia, Giulio Picolli of Rutherford,
Frank Simini of Belleville, Kevin Snyder of Passaic, James Suit
of Woolwich Township and Erin Zapcic of Brick.
Show times for “A Funny Thing Happened On The Way To The Wedding,”
are 8 p.m., November 10, 12, 13 and 15; 12:30 p.m. on November 11;
10 a.m. on November 12, 15 and 16 and 3 p.m. on November 14. Tickets
are $14 standard, $10 for senior citizens and members of the William
Paterson faculty and $7 for students (limit 2 per ID). For directions
