“The American Plan,” a Love Story with a Twist, on Stage
at William Paterson University October 21 to 31
“The American Plan,” a drama by, Richard Greenberg,
the Tony Award-winning author of “Take Me Out,” will
be presented at William Paterson University’s Hunziker Black
Box Theatre in Wayne from October 21 to 31. The play examines American
society through the lens of an upper-class family,
The cast is comprised of five William Paterson University students.
Greg Chornomaz of Brancheville will play “Gil Harbison;”
Travis Garcia of Boonton will play “Nick Lockridge;”
“Lili Adler” will be played by Hilary Goldman of Princeton;
Christina Hoffman of Edison will play “Eva Adler;” and
Andi Smith of Toms River will play “Olivia Shaw.” Rachel
Evans of New Brunswick will direct the production.
In the summer of 1960, a troubled, 20-year-old German–Jewish
girl, Lili Adler, on vacation in the Catskills with her wealthy
family, falls in love with Nick Lockridge, a young man of whom her
family disapproves. During the course of the summer, Lili’s
mother uncovers a secret from the young man’s past which proves
him unfit as a suitor.
Show times for “The American Plan” are 8 p.m. on October
21, 23, and 29; 6 p.m. on October 31; and 12:30 p.m. on October
