WILLIAM PATERSON UNIVERSITY ART FACULTY
TO PRESENT ANNUAL EXHIBIT
A selection of recent artworks created by members of the art faculty
at William Paterson University in Wayne will be on exhibit at the
University’s Ben Shahn Galleries from October 25 through November
24, 2004. Gallery hours are Monday through Friday, 10 a.m. to 5
p.m. Admission is free. A reception for the exhibit will be held
on Sunday, November 14 from 2 to 4 p.m.
The exhibit, in Ben Shahn’s Court Gallery, will provide insight
into the creative process of the University’s diverse art
faculty, which includes painters, sculptors, printmakers, and designers
in every media. Works featured in the exhibit include examples of
painting, drawing, sculpture, mixed media, collage, furniture design,
photography, textile design and printmaking.
Faculty artists include Don Brautigam, James Andrew Brown, Giovanna
Cecchetti, Joseph Coco, Zhiyuan Cong, Angela DeLaura, Nisha Drinkard,
Leslie Nobler Farber, Ming Fay, Janet Filomeno, Harriet Balaran
Finck, Andrea Geller, David Horton, Alan Lazarus, Jacqueline Lima,
Elaine Lorenz, Charles Magistro, Donald McLaughlin, Margaret Murphy,
Kristen Palana, Lily Prince, Joohyun Pyune, Steve Rittler, Robin
Schwartz, Zoe Sonenberg, Kimanne Smith, Thomas Uhlein, and Joe Van
Putten.
The exhibit is one of three shows on view concurrently in the Ben
Shahn Galleries. “Merging Cultures: Contemporary Art and the
Merging of Traditions,” an exhibit that is part of the statewide
Transcultural New Jersey project, on view in the South Gallery,
features works by five New Jersey artists from diverse backgrounds.
On view in the South Gallery is “A Woman’s Eye,”
an exhibit of photographs of women by women.
This exhibit is made possible in part by funds from the New Jersey
State Council on the Arts/Department of State, a partner agency
of the National Endowment for the Arts.
