William Paterson University Presents Eileen Ivers and Immigrant Soul: A Celtic Christmas

Eileen Ivers, a Celtic fiddler and former musical star of “Riverdance,” will perform a Christmas show comprised of standard and Celtic holiday material on Thursday, December 16 at 8 p.m. in the Shea Center for Performing Arts.

Originally from the Bronx, Ivers began playing the fiddle at the age of eight and studied with the renowned fiddler, Martin Mulvihill. As a child, she grew up in a culturally diverse neighborhood and has incorporated the rhythms of African, Latin and American roots into her music. She is a nine-time All-Ireland Fiddle Champion and has worked with musical artists including Paula Cole, John Doyle, Eddie Gomez and Randy Brecker. Ivers established a touring production with the quintet Immigrant Soul and has made numerous appearances throughout the United States, Europe, Japan, Russia and Mexico.

Tickets are $26 standard, $24 for senior citizens, William Paterson faculty and staff, and $8 for William Paterson students. For additional information, call the Shea Center Box Office at 973-720-2371.
