William Paterson University Presents “Frogz”
“Frogz,” an animated program
presenting a unique style of mime, illusionary acrobatic feats,
and creative masks and costumes, will be staged in the Shea Center
for Performing Arts at 7:30 p.m. on November 19 at William Paterson
University in Wayne.
The performance, without spoken text, consists of dramatic and humorous
vignettes, for the young and the young at heart. Seeking to explore
the nature of the world, each piece features a multitude of characters,
including an introverted frog, athletic amphibians and a group of
penguins whose comical and clever occurrences provide striking and
visual entertainment against a diverse backdrop of silent movies
and circus melodies.
The event is performed by a five-member cast of the Imago Theatre,
a theater mask ensemble, that stages experimental works, original
text works and contemporary adaptations of the classics. The company,
which has been honored by the National Endowment for the Arts, has
performed throughout Europe, Asia, Russia and North America.
Tickets are $26 standard, $24 for senior citizens, William Paterson
faculty and staff, $13 for children 17 and under and $8 for William
Paterson students.
