ROCK ‘N ROLL HALL OF FAME INDUCTEE, DAVID CROSBY, TO PERFORM AT WILLIAM PATERSON UNIVERSITY

David Crosby, a two-time Rock ‘n Roll Hall of Fame inductee and renowned musician, will present a special evening of classic rock with his band CPR at William Paterson University’s Shea Center for Performing Arts on March 5 at 8 p.m.

Crosby’s career began with the folk/rock revival of the early 1960s as a solo artist. In 1963, he became a member of The Byrds, a groundbreaking musical group. The band was best known for hit songs including, “I’ll Feel A Whole Lot Better” and “Eight Miles High.” Crosby left the band in 1967 and produced singer Joni Mitchell’s debut album.

He achieved fame as part of Crosby, Stills and Nash. After Neil Young joined the group, the foursome displayed an unforgettable performance at Woodstock in 1969, which established their iconic presence into the world of rock music.

His solo album, “…If I Could Only Remember My Name,” was critically acclaimed. He also produced several more albums for Nash, including the renowned, “Wind On The Water.”

After recovering from liver transplant surgery and uniting with James Raymond, his long-lost son of 30 years, the pair wasted no time in teaming up with guitarist and vocalist Jeff Pevar, to form the jazz-inflected and rock-influenced sound of CPR in 1995. The trio have composed three albums, the most recent being “Just Like Gravity,” a collection James Raymond calls “…more aggressive, rockin’ and eclectic” than previous works.

Raymond, a well-established keyboard soloist, musical director and composer, began studying theory and composition in college. He also served as musical director for the award-winning Nickelodeon series “Roundhouse.” Jeff Pevar’s fascination with The Beatles turned him into a bar-band pro before he was old enough to drive. He has performed or recorded with many well-known musicians including Rickie Lee Jones, Ray Charles, James Taylor, Joe Cocker, Jimmy Webb and Carly Simon.

Tickets are $53 Orchestra/Loge AA-FF, $48 Loge GG-MM, $24 Obstructed View. $10 rush tickets are available to William Paterson students 15 minutes prior to showtime on the night of the event only. Limit two per ID. Children under 5 years of age will not be admitted to this event.
