ALAN BALL’S
COMEDY, “FIVE WOMEN WEARING THE SAME DRESS,” ON STAGE
AT WILLIAM PATERSON UNIVERSITY FEBRUARY 28 TO MARCH 6
“Five Women Wearing the Same Dress,”
Alan Ball’s wickedly funny and irreverent look at the intricacies
of friendship, will be presented at William Paterson University’s
Hunziker Black Box Theatre in Wayne from February 28 to March 6.
Edward Matthews, head of William Paterson’s theatre series,
will direct.
“Five Women Wearing the Same Dress” is the story of
five reluctant, identically clad bridesmaids who attempt to avoid
the wedding reception by hiding out in an upstairs bedroom. As the
afternoon wears on, these women discover that despite their differences,
they share a common bond.
A review in Theatre Week praised the show. “Alan Ball has
the comic writer’s requisite talent for dialogue that ricochets
snappily around the stage.”
The cast is comprised of William Paterson University students, including
Travis Garcia of Boonton as “Tripp,” Hilary Goldman
of Princeton as “Frances,” Valerie Lynn of Wayne as
“Trisha,” Lisa Nicholas of West New York as “Mindy,”
Sabrina Pagan of Jersey City as “Georgeanne” and Erin
Zapcic of Brick as “Meredith.”
Show times for “Five Women Wearing the Same Dress” are
8 p.m., February 28, March 3 and 5; 2 p.m. on February 29 and March
6; and 12:30 p.m. on March 4. Tickets are $10 standard, $7 for students,
