—Guiliani to Meet with Small Group of Students at 4:30 p.m.; Lecture in Shea Center at 8 p.m.

Rudolph Giuliani, the acclaimed former Mayor of New York City, will meet with a small group of students at William Paterson University in Wayne on Friday, February 6, 2004 at 4:30 p.m. prior to an 8 p.m. lecture in Shea Center.

Guiliani will meet with journalism and political science students from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. in an informal setting in the living room of Hobart Manor on campus. Tina Lesher, professor of communication, will moderate the forum.

At 8 p.m., Guiliani will deliver remarks and participate in a question and answer session with the audience.

Under his administration, from 1993 to 2001, New York City experienced a resurgence as he reduced crime by 57 percent, reformed welfare, and encouraged economic growth. For his leadership during the 9/11 crisis in New York City, he was named Time magazine’s “Person of the Year.” Currently, Giuliani is a principal in the firm Giuliani Partners, a professional services firm which deals in emergency preparedness, public safety, leadership during crises and financial management.
