Jane Zeff Named Director of Institutional
Research and Assessment
Jane Zeff has been appointed director of the Office of Institutional
Research and Assessment (formerly the Office of Planning, Research,
and Evaluation). She is responsible for providing accurate, useful
and timely information about the university to decision makers at
all levels, and to provide leadership and support for research and
assessment throughout the University.
She comes to the University from Montclair State University where
she held the position of director of institutional research. Prior
to that she was associate director, Office of Planning, Research,
and Evaluation, at William Paterson University. Previous professional
accomplishments include the positions of manager of information
and research, Association of Junior Leagues, New York City, and
visiting assistant professor of sociology at City College of New
York.
Zeff has a distinguished record of community service as a member
of the New Jersey State Library Trustee Association, 1991 to the
present (president, 1995-1997), member of the Hoboken Public Library
Board of Trustees, 1988 the present; Hoboken Friends of the Library
Board of Trustees, and member of the Friends of the David and Lorraine
Cheng Library Executive Committee, William Paterson University,
1999 to the present (founding chairperson, 1999-2002).
Zeff holds a bachelor of arts degree in sociology from Hunter College
and a doctorate in sociology from the University of Massachusetts
at Amherst.
