JIM GEOGHAN’S COMEDY, “ONLY KIDDING,” ON STAGE AT WILLIAM PATERSON UNIVERSITY FEBRUARY 27 TO MARCH 7

“Only Kidding,” Jim Geoghan’s Off-Broadway comedy hit, will be presented at William Paterson University’s Hunziker Black Box Theatre in Wayne from February 27 to March 7. Edward Matthews, head of William Paterson’s theatre series, will direct.

“Only Kidding” concerns an over-the-hill comic who is awaiting his last chance at the big time, and an aspiring comedian who gets involved with a Mafia-connected club owner. The men are at different stages in their careers, but are competing for a chance to appear on a late-night television program.

The cast is comprised of William Paterson University students and alumni. Students include Jonathon Angelico of Hamilton Square as “Tom Kelly,” Greg Chornomaz of Branchburg as “Sal D’Angelo,” Kevin Snyder of Passaic as “Sheldon Kelinski,” and Rob Traegler of Hamilton Square as “Jerry Goldstein.” Ron Mulligan of Bloomfield, an alumnus, will play “Jackie Dwayne.”

Show times for “Only Kidding” are 8 p.m., February 27, March 4 and 6; 2 p.m. on February 28 and March 7; and 6 p.m. on February 29. Tickets are $10 standard, $7 for students, the William Paterson community and senior citizens. For directions or to purchase tickets, please call the Shea Center Box Office at 973-720-2371.
