EVE ENSLER’S "THE VAGINA MONOLOGUES" TO BE PERFORMED AT WILLIAM PATERSON UNIVERSITY

Two benefit performances of "The Vagina Monologues," Eve Enseler’s Obie Award-winning play, will be presented at William Paterson University in Wayne on Thursday, February 19, 2004 at 12:30 p.m. and 7 p.m. in the Hunziker Blackbox Theater on campus. Tickets are $10, $7 for William Paterson University faculty and staff, and $5 for students.

The performances are sponsored by the William Paterson University Women’s Center and the Women’s Theater Company, a professional company in residence at the University. All proceeds will benefit Strengthen Our Sisters, a shelter for battered women and their children.

"The Vagina Monologues" are performed in conjunction with V-Day, a global movement focused on ending violence against women and girls. Benefit performances of the show are meant to bring awareness of rape, battery, incest, and forms of female genital mutilations taking place worldwide.

The production is also sponsored by LUNAbar, a whole nutrition bar for women.
