MARIONETTE PERFORMANCE TO BE HELD AT WILLIAM PATERSON UNIVERSITY ON NOVEMBER 19
The Cashore Marionettes, graceful and artistic puppets designed to look like people and animals which are endowed with a subtle and refined range of movement by their masters, are scheduled to appear at William Paterson University on Saturday, November 19 at 2 p.m. in Shea Center for Performing Arts on the campus in Wayne. The event was originally scheduled for October 15.
The performance, “Simple Gifts,” is a collection of nine vignettes from everyday life, set to music by several composers including Vivaldi, Strauss, Beethoven and Copland. The scenes will be presented though a combination of manipulation, theatrical illusion, and artistic insight that infuse the puppets with a range of emotions and actions that are always convincing.
A free post-performance lecture with demonstration will immediately follow this event. The show is recommended for children ages eight and older. Seating is limited due to the nature of this event.
Tickets are $8. To purchase tickets or for additional information, call the Shea Center for Performing Arts Box Office at 973.720.2371.
