Hobart Manor Recital Series Continues on April 3

The Hobart Manor Recital Series continues with a performance by violinist Soo Yeon Kim and pianist Aaron Wunsch. On Sunday April 3 at 5 p.m. in historic Hobart Manor located on the campus of William Paterson University in Wayne. A post-performance wine and cheese reception, included in the $35 ticket, begins at 6 p.m.; tickets for the recital only are $20.

Soo Yeon Kim will perform Brieg’s “Violin Sonata in C Minor,” and Wunsch will accompany her.
Wunsch has appeared on concert stages throughout the U.S. and Europe, including Alice Tully and Steinway Halls in New York, Ozawa Hall at Tanglewood, at the Verbier Festival in Switzerland, and at the Norfolk, Bowdoin, Sarasota, Great Lakes, and Yellow Barn chamber music festivals.

Kim began studying the violin at the age of four and performed the “Lalo Symphonie Espagnole” with the Korean Synphonietta when she was nine years old. The following year, she won the annual audition of the Korea National Orchestra and performed the “Mendelssohn Concerto” in E minor as a soloist. In April 2001, she won the distinguished E-Wha Kyung Hwang Newspaper Competition. As a scholarship student of Stephen Clapp, Kim began her studies at the Juilliard Pre-College Division in 2002. She also won the Juilliard violin competition as a first-year student. She is the winner of the 2004 Mae and Fletcher Fish Young Artist Competition, held annually at William Paterson University.

The Hobart Manor Recital Series is underwritten, in part, by William Paterson University. It is also funded, in part, by the Passaic County Cultural and Heritage Council at Passaic County Community College through the State/County Block Grant Program of the New Jersey State Council on the Arts/Department of State, a Partner Agency of the National Endowment for the Arts.
