Cellist David Bakamjian and Harpsichordist
Rebecca Pechefsky to Perform Selections From Baroque Era in Midday
Concert at William Paterson University
Baroque cellist David Bakamjian and harpsichordist Rebecca Pechefsky
will present German and French music by musical composers Georg
Philipp Telemann, J.S. Bach, Jean Barriere and Elisabeth Jacquet
de la Guerre on Thursday, March 3 in Shea Center on campus as part
of the University’s Midday Artist Series. The program begins
at 12:30 p.m. Admission is $3.
The concert will include one of Bach’s imaginative suites
for solo cello and an elaborate suite for solo harpsichord by La
Guerre. Baroque flutist Andrew Bolotowsky will also perform with
the duo.
Bakamjian has appeared with musical ensembles such as the New York
Collegium, Four Nations and the Long Island Baroque. Pechefsky has
presented solo recitals at the Weill Recital Hall and Carnegie Hall.
She is also the co-artistic director of music at Morris-Jumel Mansion,
an historic home in Manhattan. Bakamjian and Pechefsky recently
recorded an album, “Northern Lights: Music from the German
Baroque,” which will be released later this spring.
