WILLIAM PATERSON UNIVERSITY PRESENTS 1940s CLASSIC COMEDY, “BLITHE SPIRIT,” DECEMBER 2 THROUGH 10

The William Paterson University Performing Arts Theatre Series presents “Blithe Spirit,” a twentieth century classic by Noël Coward, at the Hunziker Black Box Theatre on campus from December 2 to 10.

“Blithe Spirit” is the classic British stage comedy in which author Charles Condomine and his second wife, Ruth, arrange a séance as after-dinner entertainment. The wildly eccentric medium, Madame Arcati, inadvertently conjures up the ghost of Charles’ deceased first wife, Elvira, who wages a spirited campaign to reclaim her husband.

The production is comprised of William Paterson University students and alumni. Students are: Andrea Corbo of Montville as “Edith;” Christina Cummings of Ventnor as “Mrs. Bradman;” Brett Druck of South Orange as “Dr. Bradman;” Lindsay Tierstein of Hillside as “Ruth Condomine;” and Belinda Winters-Rosen of Kinnelon as “Madame Arcati.”

William Paterson alumni are: Travis Garcia ‘05 of Boonton as “Charles Condomine,” and Erin Zapcic ’05 of Brick as “Elvira.”

The production is directed by Phillip Sprayberry of Clifton, William Paterson University media relations coordinator. Evan Lewis, Jody Ratti and Carol Sherry will design sets, lighting and costumes, respectively.

Curtain times for “Blithe Spirit” are 8 p.m. on December 2, 3, 7, 8, 9 and 10; 6 p.m. on December 4; and 12:30 p.m. on December 8. Tickets are $10, $7 for senior citizens and students. For directions or to purchase tickets, please call the Shea Center Box Office at 973-720-2371.
