ROMANCE TAKES THE STAGE IN “SHAKESPEARE ON LOVE” AT WILLIAM PATERSON UNIVERSITY FROM NOVEMBER 9 TO 15

The William Paterson University Performing Arts Theatre Series presents “Shakespeare on Love,” a collage of the Bard’s most famous love scenes, at Shea Center for Performing Arts on campus from November 9 to 15.

“Shakespeare on Love” features some of literature’s most famous lovers on stage in scenes from “The Tempest,” “Two Gentlemen of Verona,” “Twelfth Night,” “A Midsummer Night’s Dream,” The Taming of the Shrew,” and “Romeo and Juliet,” among others.

The educational theatre production is comprised of William Paterson University students and alumni. Students in the ensemble are: Ali Gleason of Lanoka Harbor; Hilary Goldman of Princeton; Tiffany Groglio of Plainfield, Conn.; Christina Hoffman of Edison; Lucas Hopper of Hurley, N.Y.; Pedro Jimenez of Hoboken; Lydia Martin of Fort Wayne, Ind.; Joe Palinsky of Colonia; Michael Turner of Leonia; and Leigh K. Weaver of Clementon. William Paterson alumnus Chris Pickhardt ’02 of Oakland is also a member of the cast.

Edward Matthews, director of the University’s performing arts unit, will direct. William Paterson adjunct faculty and staff members Evan Lewis and Shari Selke serve as scenic designer and production stage manager, respectively. Debra Reed of Flemington wis the costume designer and Niklas Anderson of Brooklyn is the lighting designer.

Curtain times for “Shakespeare on Love” are 8 p.m. on November 9, 11, 12, and 14; 3 p.m. on November 13; and 12:30 p.m. on November 10.
