HANDEL’S MESSIAH TO BE PERFORMED AT WILLIAM PATERSON UNIVERSITY ON DECEMBER 11

The William Paterson University Choir and the William Paterson University Chamber Singers will present portions of Handel’s Messiah in a concert on Tuesday, December 11 at 8 p.m. in the Shea Center for Performing Arts on the campus in Wayne.  Admission is free.

The performance will include selections from parts I, II, and III of the oratorio, including the “Hallelujah Chorus,” accompanied by orchestra.  Soloists include students Ashley Benson of Ringwood, soprano; Ezra Charles of Clifton, tenor; Davonia Galbraith of Paterson, soprano; Michael Giroud of Glen Gardner, bass; Elizabeth Kane of Bloomfield, alto; Jaclyn Klein of Fair Lawn, soprano; Lauren Pearson of Glen Rock, soprano; Thomas Mackwell of Hawley, Pa., bass; and Steven Zimmerman of Ridgewood, tenor.  Ivan Miller will perform as trumpet soloist; Warren Helms will perform on harpsichord.  Stephen Bryant, professor of music and director of choral activities at William Paterson, conducts the Choir; the Chamber Singers are directed by Frederick Irwin.
