Financial Advisor Randy Neumann to Lecture at William Paterson University
Randy Neumann, a former professional heavyweight boxer turned financial advisor, will present a lecture based on his book, Fighting for Your Financial Future, at William Paterson University on August 23 at 7 p.m. in the University’s building at 1600 Valley Road.
Tickets for this event are $10; $5 for senior citizens and students. Children under twelve are admitted free.
Neumann began boxing at Gleason’s Gym in the Bronx in 1967 while enrolled at the New York Institute of Technology. After eighteen months as an amateur, he turned pro and became a contender for the World Heavyweight Boxing Championship. In 1975, the same year he was the ninth-ranked heavyweight in the world, he completed a degree in business. It was then that he decided to retire from boxing. Today Neumann is a certified financial planner. His Paramus-based company Randy Neumann & Associates, Inc. oversees roughly $55 million in assets.
He has been inducted into the New Jersey Boxing Hall of Fame. Neumann has been a referee for the New York State Athletic Commission since 1982, and has worked to set up a world-wide pension plan for boxers through the International Boxing Federation. He is a syndicated financial columnist currently featured in The Ridgewood News, and has written articles for The Record, The New York Times, Forbes, Signature, Travel & Leisure, Harper’s, New Jersey Monthly, and numerous other publications.
After the lecture, Neumann will be signing copies of his book, Fighting for Your Financial Future.
