WILLIAM PATERSON UNIVERSITY TO PRESENT “THE VELVETEEN RABBIT,” A SHOW FOR CHILDREN
“The Velveteen Rabbit,” a musical show based on the classic story of unconditional love and friendship, will be staged on Sunday, April 15 at William Paterson University in Wayne.
Presented by the Connecticut Children’s Theater, the performance will be held at 2 p.m. in the Shea Center for Performing Arts on campus. Tickets are $8. The show is geared toward children in pre-kindergarten through grade 3.
Based on the classic children’s story by Margery Williams, this musical version features the voices of stage, film and television actresses Bea Arthur, as the Magic Fairy, and Marla Gibbs, as the Wind-Up Doll. An interactive show, it includes pop/contemporary musical numbers, sing-a-longs and audience participation.
The event is part of William Paterson’s University Performing Arts’ Vistas Series, designed to serve the University’s students and faculty, as well as the surrounding multicultural community. Funding for the Vistas Series at William Paterson University has been made possible, in part, by the New Jersey State Council on the Arts/Department of State.
