William Paterson University Sponsors 13th Annual “Walk for the Cure” Breast Cancer Walk on Thursday, October 2
—Event begins at Zanfino Plaza at 12:30 p.m.
William Paterson University students, faculty, staff, alumni, and the public are invited to participate in the annual fundraising walk to promote breast cancer awareness and health and wellness on October 2.
The walk on campus will begin at Zanfino Plaza, directly in front of University Commons, and will run from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. The walk will be accessible and stair-free. The event is held in recognition of October as Breast Cancer Awareness Month. The rain date is October 23.
Participants will learn that men can also be at risk for breast cancer and other surprising facts as they read messages posted along the walk. A limited number of T-shirts will be available for participants.
Donations will also be accepted from those who choose not to walk. Donors may make checks payable to one of the three charities: “Susan G. Komen for the Cure – North Jersey Affiliate,” “Susan G. Komen for the Cure,” or the “National Breast Cancer Foundation.” Last year the event attracted 586 walkers and raised more than $9,450 for these charities.
