He has also written two screenplays: The Sisters-in-Law, a comedy in production by Lions Gate, and Four Minutes, about Roger Bannister and the four-minute mile. He is the recipient of a National Magazine Award for a profile of Bill Russell, and was voted U.S. Sportswriter of the Year by his peers six times. Other awards include magazine writer of the year, an Emmy Award and a Peabody Award for excellence in broadcasting.

Lupica, a syndicated columnist for the New York Daily News, a commentator for ESPN, and a best-selling author, is one of the most prominent sportswriters in America. His popular column, “Shooting from the Lip,” appears on Sundays. His started his career covering the New York Knicks, and he became the youngest columnist at the New York Daily News at the age of 23. His work has appeared in magazines, novels, sports biographies and other non-fiction books. The season continues with a 40th anniversary celebration of the groundbreaking children’s television show, Sesame Street --- “Sesame Street at 40—A Night of Celebration and Discovery with the Legendary Cast” --- on January 30, 2009. This unique program, crafted for an adult audience, features cast members who have helped shape the Sesame Street neighborhood into one of the most successful children’s shows on television.
