IRISH ROVERS TO PERFORM AT WILLIAM PATERSON UNIVERSITY ON FEBRUARY 28
|
The Irish Rovers, who have been delivering rollicking, rousing performances of good cheer for more than forty years, will perform on Saturday, February 28 at 8 p.m. in the Shea Center for Performing Arts at William Paterson University in Wayne, N.J.
These international ambassadors of Irish music have charmed and entertained people around the world since they formed in Canada in 1963, and they continue to delight audiences with their exciting stage shows. Well known for hit recordings such as Shel Silverstein’s “The Unicorn” and Irish ditties “The Orange and the Green” and “Whiskey on a Sunday,” the band had a crossover hit in 1980 with a cover of Tom Paxton’s “Wasn’t That a Party.” The group has recorded more than three dozen albums, including the 2007 release Still Rovin’.
This musical event is part of William Paterson’s WP Live Vistas Series, designed to serve the University’s students and faculty as well as the surrounding multicultural community. Funding for the Vistas Series at William Paterson University has been made possible, in part, by the New Jersey State Council on the Arts/Department of State.
Tickets to the show are $40 for Gold Circle; $35 for Orchestra; and $30 for Loge. Members of the William Paterson community receive a 20 percent discount. For additional information, please contact the Shea Center Box Office at boxoffice@wpunj.edu or call 973.720.2371 or go to www.wplive.org.
