William Paterson University Celebrates the Music of Bartok
The music of Hungarian composer Bela Bartok will be celebrated in a concert to be held at William Paterson University on October 22 as part of the University’s Midday Artist Series.
The classical music concert will be held at 12:30 p.m. in Shea Center for Performing Arts on the campus in Wayne. Admission is free; a donation of $5 is suggested. The public is invited to attend.
Frank Pavese, an adjunct professor of music at William Paterson, will perform Bartok’s “Sonata for Piano,” a solo piece. Other musical selections include “Sonata for Violin an Piano,” to be played by violinist Dimitar Hadjipetkov and pianist Itay Goren ’04. Pavese and Goren will play the piano parts for “Sonata for Two Pianos and Percussion,” joined by Alex Buxbaum and Jeffery Rubin on percussion.
