WILLIAM PATERSON UNIVERSITY INTRODUCES NEW, SPECIALIZED M.B.A. TO MEET THE INCREASED DEMAND FOR ENTREPRENEURSHIP EDUCATION IN TODAY’S CHANGING ECONOMY
William Paterson University in Wayne, N.J. has introduced a new master of business administration (M.B.A.) degree with a concentration in entrepreneurship to meet the growing demand for entrepreneurial skills required to succeed in today’s changing markets.
The M.B.A., offered through the Cotsakos College of Business, will be available beginning in the Fall 2009 semester.
“Entrepreneurship is a major contributor to the future of economic recovery. Small business, innovation, and new corporate ventures have historically been the major factors behind job creation and economic growth,” says Sam Basu, dean of the Cotsakos College of Business.
Graduates of the program will gain the skills and knowledge necessary to start, manage, operate, grow, and sustain a business or support entrepreneurial activities in corporations.
The combination of M.B.A. core requirements, along with entrepreneurial and innovation skills, will prepare students to excel in a wide range of lucrative and challenging careers, such as: new start-ups, family-owned businesses, minority- or women-owned businesses, consulting firms, venture firms, banks and financial institutions, and corporations with functions in research and development, corporate venturing, product development, innovation, portfolio management, and intelligence.
Students will also benefit from mentoring opportunities, specialized entrepreneurial seminars and business planning conferences, small business counseling, and innovative workshops offered by the University’s many centers, including the Global Financial Services Institute, the Small Business Development Center, and, in particular, the Russ Berrie Institute for Professional Sales.
In addition to the entrepreneurship concentration, the University also offers M.B.A. degrees with concentrations in accounting, finance, marketing, and music management offered through the Cotsakos College of Business. Students also may choose the general M.B.A. degree program.
Prospective students who would like more information about enrolling in the M.B.A. program may call the graduate admissions office at 973-720-2237.
